Welcome to the Fauver Farm!
Located in Howard County, Maryland
We are a small hobby farm on 4 acres in Western Howard County. We are not professional breeders, our goal is to only raise goats for the milk for our family needs. We have four Nigerian Dwarf does and one Nigerian Dwarf buck, they are all very friendly and tame. We do not want to add to our existing herd so most of the babies will be sold when they are about 8 weeks old. Our goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (adga). The goats are up-to-date on their vaccinations and bio security tests (Johnes, CAE, CL – last tested Dec 2023).
All the babies are nursed by their mothers unless the mom is not feeling well. This time Macie Mae was in trouble delivering, we were able to pull the first baby out but she couldn’t push the second one. We were certain that we lost the second baby and were going to lose Macie as she was very exhausted and couldn’t push the second baby 2hrs after the first baby was out. We called the emergency vet in the middle of the night and the Doctor was able to pull the second baby out successfully. She was very weak for a few days and couldn’t nurse her babies so we are bottle feeding them. She is recovering well now and has started to nurse a little bit.
In addition to the goats, we also have a small flock of backyard chickens for our family needs. We usually give away excess eggs to our friends and family.
